Virtual Reality is technological era, everything is inspired by technology and we are now expecting new inventions every day in each segment. VR allows to learn new skills as well as experience thing's ones in a safe and 3d digital environment.
The virtual reality (VR) as well as augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR) and extended reality (XR) and 360 video that type of technology is connecting  peoples real world to virtual world.
The purpose of these virtual reality technology is to transport the person experiencing it to another world virtual and digital worlds.

What's the Difference Between AR, VR, MR, XR and 360 video?

What are the differences among Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality,Extended Reality and 360 Video ?

So let’s look at the concepts definition of  VR, AR, MR, XR,360 video and their application uses.

1. What is Virtual Reality?

The ultimate goal of VR is true immersion — the feeling that you are in another place without been physically there. This technology immerses users in a completely virtual environment that is generated by a computer.
In VR we are transporting users to 3D environments(Virtual worlds) where user able to look around the artificial world, move around in it, and interact with virtual features or items.
With VR, users experience artificial sounds and sights and feel as if they’re in a digital world.

Application Of Virtual reality

Applications of virtual reality can include entertainment (i.e. gaming) and educational purposes (i.e. medical or military training). Other, distinct types of VR style technology include augmented reality and mixed reality.
  • Virtual Reality Use in the Military
  • Virtual Reality Use in the Education
  • Virtual Reality Use in the Healthcare
  • Virtual Reality Use in the Entertainment
  • Virtual Reality Use in the Engineering
  • Virtual Reality Use in the Construction
  • Virtual Reality Use in the Scientific Visualization   Read More...

2. What is Augmented Reality?

Augmented reality is the overlay of digital content (computer-generated images) on the physical real-world environment . Digital content (Virtual objects) can be in various forms: images, graphics, videos, or interactive data.
Augmented reality is used to bring digital content into the real world. Pokemon Go and Snapchat filter is popular example

In other words, if you see the real world supplemented with digital objects, that’s AR. Imagine you want to buy a piece of furniture – a chair, for example. Augmented reality technology can help you check how different chairs will look in your room and pick the one that fits best.

Application Of Augmented reality

  • Medical training now makes use of AR
  • Games like "Pokemon Go!" make
  • AR is entering the classroom
  • Car mechanics are even getting in on the AR game
  • AR is great for interior design and modeling
  • Harley Davidson is using AR to help customers in the store
  • Gatwick Airport uses AR to help you find your gate
  • F-35 Helmets use AR                                          Read More...

3. What is Mixed Reality?

In mixed reality, you interact with and manipulate both physical and virtual items and environments, using next-generation sensing and imaging technologies.
Mixed reality brings together real world and digital elements
Mixed Reality allows you to see and immerse yourself in the world around you even as you interact with a virtual environment using your own hands—all without ever removing your headset.

Mixed reality is the use of both virtual (VR) and augmented (AR) reality technologies to create an environment where physical and virtual objects can exist and interact in real-time. This ability to interact with both physical and virtual objects gives mixed reality technologies a huge number of potential applications.

Application Of Mixed reality

  • Simulation-Based Learning
  • Wearable Holographic Computers
  • Remote Attendance
  • Heads-up Display
  • Gesture Recognition

4. What is Extended Reality?

Extended Reality (XR) is an umbrella term encapsulating Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and everything in between.
XR is the combination of real and virtual worlds, achieved via interaction of a human with computer technology or wearables.
